Employee timesheets, with a clear weekly team view
Collect the hours employees worked, review each week, and export approved timesheets. Workpindle gives managers a spreadsheet-style overview while employees see their own team submissions.
Open the invitation link your manager sent, then sign in with the exact email address they invited. You do not need to create a new team.
View my teams and invitationsSee everyone’s reported hours in one place
Choose a week to see one row per team member, with Monday–Sunday hours, weekly totals, and submission status. Members who haven’t submitted appear as “Not submitted,” so you can see whose hours are still missing.
Filter the view to awaiting review, approved, or corrections requested. Open a timesheet to check start and finish times and unpaid breaks. Export the selected week’s approved hours as a CSV for use in a spreadsheet.
From employee submission to manager approval
- Create your team. Sign in, give the team a name, and create invitations using employees’ email addresses.
- Employees accept. Copy the invitation link from People and share it with the employee. Each person signs in with the invited email and accepts their invitation.
- Submit the week. Employees enter their team shifts and unpaid breaks, review the total, and submit their hours.
- Review and approve. A manager approves the timesheet or requests corrections with a comment. The employee can then revise and resubmit it.
Approved timesheets are locked. Reopening one for corrections removes it from approved exports until it is approved again. Submission revisions and review decisions are recorded.
Give each person the right view
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Owner | View all team submissions, review hours, export approved hours, invite employees or managers, and remove member access. |
| Manager | View and review team submissions, export approved hours, and invite employees. |
| Employee | View their own team timesheets, submit hours, and make corrections when requested. |
Owners and managers cannot approve their own timesheets. Another owner or manager must review them.
A calendar when you need the bigger picture
Switch from Spreadsheet to Calendar to see recorded shifts as time blocks. Select an employee to focus on their week, or open a block to review its timesheet. Private messages and optional team chats keep conversations in the workspace.
Personal work stays separate
Joining a team does not give its manager access to your personal timesheets, hourly rates, browser drafts, usual schedule, or other teams’ records. The team sees hours you explicitly submit through its workspace.
For your own hours and estimated earnings, keep using the weekly work hours calculator. If you work multiple jobs, the two-job timesheet guide explains how to keep personal shifts and rates organized.
Questions before you start
Do invitations arrive by email?
No email is sent automatically. Create an invitation in People, choose Copy invite link, and send that link to the employee yourself. They must sign in with the invited email address to see and accept it. Invitations expire after seven days.
Can a boss assign future shifts?
This version collects and reviews hours already worked. It does not assign future shifts or manage time-off requests.
Can employees see coworkers’ hours?
No. Employees can access only their own team submissions. Team owners and managers can view the team’s submitted hours.
Does it support overnight shifts or split shifts?
The team timesheet supports one shift per day, including a shift that crosses midnight. Enter unpaid breaks in minutes; overnight work is recorded on the shift’s start day. For a standalone calculation, use the overnight shift calculator. Multiple shifts per day are available in the personal calculator, but not yet in team timesheets.
Does approving hours run payroll?
No. Approval records a manager’s review of submitted hours. The CSV export contains hours and shift details; it does not calculate taxes, apply overtime rules, or issue payments.
